Research Philosophy

Dr. Morsi's philosophy is to pursue appropriate materials research topics that can result in high ethical outcomes. leading to the dissemination of beneficial knowledge for the betterment of society and mankind. The training of diverse undergraduate and graduate students in materials science with impact on the US and International workforce is at the core of our mission at AMPL. Research funding is an essential component of success, and hence worthy of pursuit, e.g. AMPL has been significantly supported by NSF. However a grant is only a promise to do research. The ultimate research deliverables at AMPL are high quality peer-reviewed journal publications with students as co-authors. It is these publications that ultimately lead to high visibility and stature for the student, professor, and the university. Citations are one important indicator of visibility.
